Wind blows past your hair, sending chills through your entire body. It doesn’t matter, not as you look down on those city lights, once more weighing your options. But you remember the alternative, the reason you’re here to start with. You can’t continue that life. You have to do this. You step closer to the edge, nervously peering down. No one has even noticed, but you aren’t surprised. Who would notice you anyway? Who would even care? “Just do it,” you tell yourself as you force your eyes closed and try desperately not to think about what’s waiting for you below. “The end,” you say to yourself.

First let me say, if you find me near death, don’t save me, for it will be a lost cause and I’ll just try again. Not because I want to die, but because if you save me, I’ll never know what death looks like. I’ll never know if you were right when you said I was already dead. I need to know. This is not a suicide letter. It’s merely a goodbye note to you who I lost long ago.
